This mini 1U system fits in the most compact of spaces, measuring in at only 1.7 x 17.2 x 9.8 inches and weighing slightly over 12lbs. This IoT/embedded system is optimized for 1U Short-Depth Edge Server, Network Appliance & Security, SD-WAN and vCPE/uCPE, Embedded IoT Computing.
The SYS-110A-16-CRN10SP is embedded with Intel Atom Snow Ridge P5342 (16-Core) and can support up to 256 DDR4 ECC RDIMM. This system supports an onboard M.2 with the ability to support 2 hot-swappable 2.5" SATA drive bays. What makes this system unique is the ability to support 8 1GbE RJ45 ports and 2 25GbE SFP28 ports with 1 dedicated IPMI LAN port, 1 vga port, and 2 USB 2.0 ports.

Today we have one of the most fun systems we have tested recently. The Supermicro SYS-110A-16C-RN10SP is an Intel “Snow Ridge” platform designed with a lot of connectivity. Putting this into perspective, we get a 16-core processor, eight 1GbE ports, and two SFP28 25GbE ports built-in. This compact server somehow ended up resulting in a longer-than-we-expected review, indicating that a lot is going on in this short-depth server. Let us get to it.
