SYS-1019P-WTR Back View

Supermicro WIO SuperServer® systems allow users to select from a wide range of I/O options to optimize the storage and networking solutions to best fit their applications. In addition to enabling customizable configurations and optimization for a wide range of application requirements, Supermicro WIO SuperServers also provide attractive cost advantages and investment protection.

The Supermicro SYS-5019P-WTR WIO SuperServer® supports Intel® Xeon® Scalable Processors (up to 28 cores) and 1.5 ECC 3DS LRDIMM DDR4-2933MHz memory in 6 DIMM slots. The SYS-5019P-WTR includes 10 hot-swappable 2.5" SATA drive bays which makes changing hard drives easy without needing to open up the server. In addition, this WIO supports up to 2 SuperDOM with built-in power which is designed for use as a boot drive, backup recovery device, license drive, or OS installation device (replacing CD/DVD-ROMs). It can also be utilized as an embedded system storage element (to be deployed into very harsh environments where mechanical hard disk drives would fail or in a thin client due to its small size and power requirements).

For years, the typical server has been defined by the dual-socket market. At the same time, a number of organizations have noticed that crossing the QPI/ UPI bus between sockets is less than ideal. Processors have crept up not just in capacity, but also in price and power consumption which is making many take a look at single-socket solutions again. AMD EPYC has been pushing this space, so invariably, we are going to have an Intel Xeon response.
